"Playhouse" is a song performed by Azealia Banks. The track was written by Banks and Jack Fuller, and produced by Lone (MC). It was released on April 10, 2019, as the first SoundCloud single of the album.
Background[]
Azealia shared the full song along with snippets from Fantasea II on one of her livestreams on Periscope on June 16, 2017.[1] Unfortunately, according to Azealia's Instagram stories, Lone (the producer of the track) lost the original version along with other tracks so they had to re-record it.
The track was intended from the beginning for Fantasea II, however, during 2019 Azealia shared a tentative tracklist for her Business & Pleasure album and Playhouse appeared on it. Finally it was excluded from what would be the final cut of B&P and added to Fantasea II.
On May 2, 2019, Azealia teased a lyric video to be released the next week, but never came.[2][3][4]
Azealia revealed in a DM to a fan that she wanted to feature 50 Cent on this song and sent it to him 4 times with no avail.
