"Miss Camaraderie" is a song performed by Azealia Banks. It serves as the sixteenth track on Azealia's debut album Broke With Expensive Taste. Miss Camaraderie also samples a flow from Azealia's song "Luxury".
"Miss Camaraderie" is the companion track to "Miss Amor", and was initially going to be its B-Side until "Miss Amor" was shelved as a single. Following "Miss Amor"'s story of "being able to date after a heartbreak," "Miss Camaraderie" is about being able to fall in love again post-breakup.
The Bon Vivant remix of the track was released on July 28, 2018, the music video for the track was released on February 23, 2021.
Music and composition
Ryder Ripps about the music video:
"Inspired by a personal experience of sexual exploitation, Miss Camaraderie is a testament to claimed and earned space. Marrying what was once moving, now cast in stillness via George Segal’s 1987 Abraham’s Farewell to Ishmael, and what once was posed, brought to life in motion– the essence of choreographed vogueing– it is a tableau vivant wrought with emotion, power, and reclamation. Filmed at the Perez Art Museum of Miami, alongside Segal’s sculptural testament to biblical conflict, Banks takes on the moving form of Hagar, the mistress of patriarch Abraham, who was expelled in service of the legitimacy of Isaac’s birthright in place of her own son, Ishmael. Hagar is the original scapegoat, and mirror of all societal mistreatment of female sexual willpower and self-determination."
DIY Mag opined:
"A flipside to ‘Miss Amor’, what else could close a record as bonkers as this than a track produced by Lone, one of the best musical nutjobs in the business. Futuristic, smoothed-out synths surround the final bout of madness. Here, she’s at peace, in a tale about falling in love after ‘Amor’’s gruesome heartbreak. Closing a truly non-sensical first work, at last Banks sounds (relatively) settled. But bloody hell it took some doing."
The Guardian opined:
"The album’s closing pair, Miss Amor and Miss Camaraderie, find Lone bringing out some of his best ideas for Banks: martial tattoos, tropical synths, unexpected horn outros."
